What Is Scientific Friday Bar?
Scientific Friday Bar is a recurring AI use case forum for focused, informal ideation sessions, designed to spark innovation and practical applications. It's a structured yet informal arrangement for data science and AI-focused discussion, hosted within the business organizations themselves - on their own premises - so the conversation stays close to their actual operations, with the goal of maximizing business value by integrating AI into core operations. Each session brings together technical staff and business owners from the host organization with external data scientists. It's open to everyone with an interest, but capped at around 20 participants for maximum engagement.
Format
Domain-Specific Talks & Discussion
A plain-language talk on a concrete problem - e.g. a challenge that AI could help solve - followed by open discussion. Just needs a screen or projector on the host's side.
Focused Introduction
The first 15 minutes are reserved for the talk, uninterrupted, so the core idea lands clearly.
Relaxed Atmosphere
Music picks up later in the evening, easing into a more informal, social setting.
Refreshments Provided
Complimentary drinks, including beer, and a selection of snacks.

Why I Started This
I've been a scientist for many years, and one of the best things about being a scientist is that you meet many people and get to discuss - and try to solve - interesting, intellectually demanding, important, yet genuinely fun problems. These discussions usually happen after work, and the best ideas often come out of an informal chat in a cafe or a bar. Now everyone agrees that AI is the next big thing, but the real question is: what do we actually do with it to make things better? Let's start where the impact is most measurable - improving business performance. That's the mission of Scientific Friday Bar, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming sessions!
